As the title states, I am looking for ideas, suggestion, etc for how to paint, detail, decal the shields for these figures. I have a number of them I got for a very good price a few years ago and am considering painting them but they come with stickers that are not the best. |

Thank you for the link. Those would be nice BUT it doesn't look like that ever came to fruition or if it did, they are no longer produced. Neither the Little Big Men nor the Mantic site lists them … |

I actually used left over 40k decal sheets from when I built my Primaris army. I used them on about 30 Frostgrave soldiers' shields. The thing about 40k decal sheets is that they are pretty easy to get. You can pretty much get any of them on Ebay sold individually or in groups depending on how the seller wants to break them up. At first thought it might seem that 40k decals wouldn't have any symbols that could work for elves or fantasy at all for that matter. However if you look at a lot of the Imperium stuff there's lots of symbols that could fit an elf theme:
If you look at that first sheet in particular, the wings and lightning bolt symbols I think might work for fantasy elves, especially shields.
Nice thing is that you can get most of these sheets for relatively cheap, from like $10 USD to $15 USD and you will generally get enough decals to quite a few models. |
