I will be presenting this game at the War Collage at Fall-In. A general overview of the game is on Ramblings of a Military Historian. link |

So a regimental unit scale. So each player commands a brigade? Can you command a division with three brigades? How big a battle can you play? |

That general overview looks really interesting. Speaking of War College, I noticed the Fall-In site has not been updated for any War College events yet. hmgs.org/page/FIEvents |

I do have a question. How many figures for a regiment of, say, 400 men? I wandered a bit through the blog and I'm working on armies in 54mm, but I've mounted them three infantry to a base. I was thinking about using On To Richmond or maybe Fire and Fury. But I was also thinking about the possibility of using single figures. Sadly, it looks like Modern Army Games will keep me from Fall-In. Cheers; Eric |

My stands have 2 infantry pieces representing 100 men in 2 ranks if facing the long side of the stand and column of 4 if facing the narrow side of the stand. The same applies to cavalry except each piece represents 25 mounted men. I do this so that each combat hit represents 5 casualties for infantry and 4 casualties for cavalry. |

With stands of three pieces you could scale that to 32 men/ infantry piece therefore 96 to a stand. and let each hit count for a loss of 4 me 8 hits would remove a piece. My regiments range as follows per division. 1 regiment of 8 stands, 1 regiment of 7 stands, 1 regiment of 6 stands. 4 regiments each of 5, 4, and 3 stands. 5 regiments per brigade, randomly assigned. Single figures are mounted or dismounted officers, representing 1 man each and skirmishers, representing 5 mem each if infantry or 4 men each if cavalry. |

Thanks, Mike! One of these days, real soon, I need to get down to Antietam and go on a tour with you. 51st Pennsylvania is my "local" regiment. Cheers; Eric |

For those who enjoy gaming in 54mm with plenty of money to spend, check out the figures by John Jenkins Designs (listed under the Manufacturers section of TMP). I once saw a "Battle of the Snowshoes" game at an HMGS convention using their FIW figures. It looked amazing. In addition to FIW, they also have figures for AWI and the War of 1812. I suspect that Mike's system could be adapted to cover those periods. |

For a list of all the War College lectures at Fall In 2019, please see the link above. In addition to Mike Priest's ACW lectures, Steve Zaloga, author of over 140 titles for Osprey Publishing, will discuss the role of U.S. armor on D-Day. Hope to see you there. |
