Kind of a long blog posting about a new combination of maps, rules, and minis that I'm working on.

In the picture above the small squares are all 12mm per side, which allows you to play on a reasonably formatted print-off of the Ferraris maps. The ground-scale is 10mm = 100m. This lets you play right on the maps at the battalion level and capture all of the complexities of real tactical terrain. The rules are really coming along well. They're designed to play fast, so the players can focus on reading the terrain and figuring out tactics. They're fast enough though so that the game moves, and corps-per-player battles are possible. In this picture, there is just one division per side, and it fits on a 17" x 16" map. The maps will be supplied along with the rules.

I live on that map roughly where the puff of smoke is on the top right hand corner!!! I take my coffee every day roughly where the circular base is at Crainhem.

I feel as though I am participating in the game already.

That's incredibly random! But not too random, this space is just outside of Brussels so I would imagine it is mostly suburbs or city now? Still, that's a pretty crazy piece of happenstance.

I guess the duck ponds are no longer there?

Yes all suburbs now but still outside the city limits. The road layout has changed a bit but there are still some duck ponds in Crainhem. There are still some farmers' fields as well despite the urban sprawl.
