Just read/reviewed this excellent Images of War title by John Grehan. An ideal concise textual and visual primer on the subject. And possibly perfect pre-Midway movie (I'm thinking of the new Emmerich film, due out in the UK Nov 8th) reading?

Sebastian,

I can't imagine a scarier, more dangerous piece of real estate on earth than a World War II aircraft carrier.

If you're just getting into the Pacific Theatre, good for you, because it's a fascinating and heartrending subject.
