Hi all, I'm not an AoS player (yet), but was wondering if the Cities of Sigmar army book allows you to field humans, elves and dwarves in the same army, or if you're not able to mix them up (similar to 9th edition)? Chris. |

Ok found an article stating you can. And you can use Stormcast Eternals too. What are peoples thoughts? I think it's an interesting mix. |

Thoughts? AOS? You don't want to know! I believe Kings of war allow elves, dwarves and humans in the same army?? Unfortunatly AOS never will. Notelves and shortlords, or wherever GW are calling them these day, perhaps. Either way, if your playing with friends for fun, any armies can be mixed, can't they? |

Kings of War allow "Good" races to group together, "Evil" races to group together and "Neutral" races to group with anyone, Unless as The H Man said, you play with friends. Or Brother. My brother has a larger Elf army, so my wife and I brought a Dwarf / Undead force to oppose him. "Enemy of my enemy is my friend…." |

Yes in Cities of Sigmar you can freely mix Humans, Dwarves and all 3 flavours of elves 1 in 4 units can be a stormcast, plus a couple of the cities allow you to take either Treemen/dryads or the Dwarf blimps However I do thin that their are a couple of important units missing – no elf archers and no dwarf warmachines |

What cities the whole world was basically destroyed when GW killed off WFB. |

AoS takes place thousands of years after the cataclysm in WHFB. In that time, the species have spread to inhabitable worlds in realms that embody what used to make up the winds of magic. It's a much more high magic/mythic aesthetic. The imagery seems very influenced by modern CRPGs and MMORPGs with lots of glow/particle effects, even more oversized and completely impractical armor and weapons, etc. by way of a plot line that is embarrassingly close to a Magic the Gathering cycle (seriously- you can almost directly map the colors to the major AOS characters and factions). |

Cities of Sigmar allows to mix, but omits old Empire units like Cannons, Mortars, Knights, Engineers, Bowmen and some others (beside a lot of units for Elves or Dwarfs). |

Yeah but they kept that bloody steam tank, and we don't have Hellebron to chop it in half with the Deathsword anymore! It's a shame they omit a lot of the old units. Given some new factions have less than 10 in total, it's understandable. It's a shame the bolt throwers got the axe, they were useful. It's interesting you can mix now. They have Shadow Warriors and Sisters of the Watch that technically fills the elf archer role. I guess they had to strike a balance. Hopefully Bretonnians will claw their way back at some point… |

Dwarves and vampires would be fun! Wonder when vampires will get an update? They've focused on every other undead aspect in AoS like ghouls, skeletons and ghost people, lets get some vampire action. Without the chunky armour too. |

Maybe the races will intermingle like in Ral Partha? Half-elves etc. I'm hoping they'll do the releases for Teclis/Tyrion and Malerion themed armies soon. With some new hero figures too seeing as the hero boxes for Empire and High Elves were discontinued, and the High Elf Mage was too. |

Given some new factions have less than 10 in total, it's understandable. It's a shame the bolt throwers got the axe, they were useful. That is because GW just wants you to play with their Fantasy Space Marines. Oh and if something was useful it would go the way of the Dodo. The one thing that GW is very good at is getting rid of things. |

I think that is a bit negative. More likely, the lists just reflect the current models in production, especially new models. GW is also very good at producing new things. Shiny, expensive new things. |

GW is also very good at producing new things. Shiny, expensive new things. Key point here is "Expensive" though there are better miniature companies out there. |

Yeah I just saw another Stormcast character release on their Aos Facebook page. A few people had commented about doing some for the other factions instead. I do like a few of their new models, including some of the Idoneth Deepkin, but enough with the sigmarines! You look at the number of models in the Order faction, Stormcast is at 59! I get Space Marines sell, but that doesn't mean you need to make everything one. The pricetags are irritating. I buy mostly from vendors on eBay who knock a few $ off. I can't justify the price of the newer kits with come with very little extra bits you can use for conversions. Personally I feel GW offeres the best quality for miniatures. I do like a lot of other companies but I like the variety outside sigmarines. I think they need to focus on expanding the non-sigmarine ranges more and giving more bang for your buck. |
