I'm looking for recommendations for books with the best description of the Nez Perce War with a military focus. I own Let Me Be Free and The Flight of the Nez Perce, but I am hoping that there are books out there that examine the Nez Perce battles with the same tactical examination given to the Little Bighorn.

“Nez Perce Summer 1877: The U.S. Army and the Nee-Me-Poo Crisis” by Jerome Greene.

He graduated with degrees in history from Black Hills State College at Spearfish, S.D., and the University of South Dakota. He spent three summers working at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and joined the National Park Service full-time in 1976.

I have asked this question of several of my historian friends…hands down, Jerome Greene's book as cited by Eagle.
