"Our favorite captain returns in winter. As just revealed at the New York Comic Con Star Trek panel, Picard now has a release date and another thrilling, nostalgia-stoking new trailer. Years after his time at Starfleet, Picard is back in action, older, sadder, and probably even more impossibly wise. The new trailer expands on the story details revealed in the last one, expanding on Picard's dangerous journey away from the comforts of Starfleet's power. It also begins with a dream(y) appearance by Data, and we get to see Riker! "I came here to find safety," Picard says. "But no one's ever safe from the past."…" See here link Amicalement Armand

I suspect the actual quality of the product is inversely proportional to the amount of pre-show advertising/marketing they are doing, which does not bode well for it. |

I don't need to be told Picard is coming, but please let me know when Picard is gone. I've been waiting for him to go away since "Encounter at Farpoint." Oh. And you don't know that the show is REALLY bad until they start making ad hominem attacks on everyone who doesn't like it. Of course, that's the default for Star Trek and Star Wars both these days. |

My friend… On what basis do these doubts arise about the quality of the show? … so far … the trailers they have shown seem of good quality …! Amicalement Armand

Well, not being a Picard fan, since I don't think a REAL ship's captain should have to run his vessel by committee, the new show starts with dubious underpinnings. I'm more of a Kirk man myself, or a Romulan/Klingon captain fan, where they "damn the torpedoes….." and full warp ahead. I will be happy to be proved wrong by the new show, but I suspect that to be unlikely, assuming I ever get to see it, since I'm not paying more than basic cable fees for the pleasure. |

Rumour mill has it, and I stress that its rumour, Picard will die at the end of the first season and his ship of renegades will rename their vessel 'The Picard'. The rumour seems to be due to the cost of bringing in Patrick Steward to reprise the role. I'm curious, but as its in the style of STD which I don't believe is real Trek, I'm not that interested enough to subscribe to watch it. |
