"Some of the most enduring historical myths have to do with food and drink. Food history can sometimes be seen as frivolous, which makes it particularly vulnerable to myth-making. Ha, all amateurs. My Mom (in the mid 1950's) diced carrots and mixed them into Peanut Butter to make it crunchy! All the other "crunchy" peanut butter guys came later.

@genew49: Did your mom show that technique to my mom, who was doing it in the 1960s?

My mom also stuffed peanut butter into the groove of celery sticks, which made both the peanut butter and the celery taste way better.

No point in watching. The thing's an hour long, and I'll bet money it won't tell me who invented my favorite food, whether I pick popcorn of the breaded pork tenderloin.

Based on volume, pizza would be my fav. Not sure who invented it, but Mario's in W-S NC perfected it.
