Hummm. Good assembly but bloody clean for a working boat don't you think?

I wonder if this was meant to be a bit "tongue in cheek"?

One crewman has his helmet on back to front.

The M16s have what seem to be wooden stocks and framework.

The modern No Smoking signs and countless other features. Yet there is some superb small scale detail. The pin ups and map on the bridge (mind you what possible use a map of that scale could possibly be to a small patrol boat…) The beer bottles and transistor radio, great. But so much is really wrong here.

The colours used throughout are…..how can I say it?…questionable both for accuracy of choice and the shades used. The crew are in need of much facial work, highlighting and a matt varnish…plus complete change of rig for VN 1960s.

That was a superb Tamiya kit and I have seen it brilliantly done. This, however, would be a great school project model standard.

Yes, some of M60 & M16s parts are painted brown like wood. That is not accurate. Those should be black or gun metal. As well as some of the color choices overall are questionable(?).

And yes … too clean … everything …

The helmet on backwards … it's possible … the sailor could have been screwing around, in a hurry, not paying attention, etc., etc.

Overall the paint job is a bit amateurish, IMO …

But I do like the pin up girls poster !
