If you have been following my blog you will be aware that I have been focussing on a rather large Ancient Briton army…last night saw my troibe go up against a friends who was also building an ancient Briton army…some 1500+ figures on the table…

You don't need 500+ figures to have a good wargame….but it clearly doesn't hurt!

Well done, you two.

Good for you for using rules that let you finish in 3 hours.

I used to take pride in my ability to set up spectacular, massive games that took 8 hours(or more) to finish.

Were they epic? Yes.
Were they fun? They were, for the first 3 hours or so . . .

WOW! You almost need chairs on casters so you can wheel yourself from skirmish to skirmish. Good paint jobs on those, too.

Thanks for all the great comments guys

I have to share the credit with my mate Mark – he put together 50% of the forces.

Lucius: We used to play a lot of wargames that played out over two sessions – by the time we got round to the second session it was more often than not a foregone result…hence using Hail Caesar to deliver a game that can be fought out in one night
