Hello all

Have a look at my Instagram site where I have posted a few videos on the Victrix 54mm British Flank Company during the Peninsular War

Would welcome your comments

Nicely done!

I used this set to make grenadiers from the Royal Newfoundland Fencibles for a friend (from Newfoundland, of course)

Great stuff, both of you.

But Frederick, how do we know they are Newfies?

Canteens full of screech? :-)

Expeditionary Force makes some nice hard plastic 54mm Napoleonic's also as well as 54mm Zulu Wars. Plus some beautiful 60mm Romans, Celts and Greeks.

epturner, You can tell they're Newfies by their accents.

Thanks all

Great Fencibles Frederick.

I've not yet seen the Expeditionary figures. Maybe one for a future post…

Cheers

@ Doug

My little eyes lit up when you wrote that
Expeditionary Force makes some nice hard plastic 54mm Napoleonics

as I wasn't aware of this maker. Off I went to their website
link
to find, apparently, the Holy Grail:

54 BRT 01 Line Infantry Centre Coy. (1812-1815)

Centre companies!! Can this be?! Victrix, ACTA, Airfix, HaT, and literally everyone you care to name makes only British flank companies. You want flank companies? You're good. Lots of choice. You want centre companies? Tumbleweed. Yes, the remaining 80% of the battalion they all ignore.

So I click on the link and what do I see?

Shoulder wings…..

Foiled again. Gaaah! Why do they do it??

Yes the Ex-Force figures are great. And they do some very nice Highlanders and Royal Marines.
The infantry are just a tad smaller than the Victrix so you'd have to decide if you wanted to use them with the Victrix figures.

Also, the ex-force have 1812-15 uniforms, so the French have the later coats so maybe another problem, although not all French or British units got the new uniforms so I argue that you could have s mix of old and new.

The Highlanders do fit in nicely with the Victrix and the cavalry are a very good match for the Victrix infantry.

There are some photos/discussions on the little wars forum at
