Some of those minefields in NA are still there. On occasion some finds one by stepping on or driving over it … |

It was estimated there is a few million mines in Afrika that have not been cleared yet. I think it is about time Germany and Britain cleared them. |

That would not surprise me. And as I said sometimes someone finds them … with in some cases incurring an undesirable outcome. Even when I was on the ROK DMZ, '85. A local farmer found a mine left over from '53. We had to go in an medevac him. He lost most of his foot. That mine was emplaced there since the end of the Korean War in '53. Many minefields there are marked … but he found one that was not/missed. |
