I was reading recently from a book written by a toy soldier collector. In the book, he admits to doing some solo gaming, but says that he could never be a real wargamer because he's "not social." So – on a scale of 10 (mega social) to 1 (micro social), how social are you? |

4ish. I like being social for relatively short periods of times like a party or get together. But I'm usually done being social after one evening.l mabye two. |

5 The answer is always 5. In this case other people are either too sociable, or not enough, so I must be in the middle. |

2 or 3 – whichever covers gaming with a friend across a board wargame table or joining a group of 3 or 4 gamers in a miniatures game. Large noisy (large crowds always get noisy) are no good for me and extroverts are a PITA since they ALWAYS think others want to interact with them or worse that introversion is an anomaly of some kind. |

I seem to get along fine with others. I do need alone time especially after a large (number of players) game. It uses up my energy, seemingly. |

I'm an introvert too, so 3. Damon. |

10--The best part of miniature wargaming is sharing with friends. What's wrong with you guys? |

2-3, I can deal with people in small doses. Usually I just want to be left alone. Large gatherings are annoying and people who like to talk generally get ignored except for an occasional "oh yeah". |

Wow, disappointing, I have always found gamers to be very sociable, of course there are always a few a#*holes but life is full of them. I believe I would rate high on the scale, within reason of course. I still wanna be able to move around the table freely without bumping asses and elbows. |

Legion, you should know that the proper response to that question is, "I don't know, I didn't look." |

My job involves constant interaction with a large number of people and my home life has a quite demanding social life (my dear wife is very outgoing). Some of my best friends are wargaming pals, so gaming is very social too. But I often feel the need to get away from people & the other sides of gaming (researching, planning & painting) are fortunately quite solitary pursuits. I'm a '2', I guess. |
