No, these were sculpted by a guy in Scotland for himself, but then never released?? I was lucky enough to pick up the entire stock (about 3-400 figures a mix of Riffi and Legionnaires) a few yrs back :) I was planning eventually to batch them up and flog them off on Ebay, but I`ve become disillusioned with their selling fees (plus Paypal charges) and just can`t be arsed so they languish in a shoe box :( I`d lost my drive to paint and model and thought I`d do a few of these as change – they came out OK I think :) |

I think they look terrific. The figures possess a lot of individual character. Thanks for posting! |

It's a shame the sculptor didn't put them into production; they would have made for the most comprehensive and historically accurate Rif War range on the market. Many years ago I read a history of the Rif Wars, and I seem to recall that the book mentioned that El Krim had three battalions of regulars, but that he used them only for suppressing internal rebellions and not against the Spanish or French. |

The various tribes and clans only lent troops to El Krims war. There were set conscription time periods so flocks, fields, harvests could be looked after. There was a full time standing unit of Regulares, of roughly 1,000 men, these were used as cadre for the various harkas and warbands. |
