A wonderful endorsement for 6mm terrain, why do larger scale games looks so unreal when this can be done with such a tiny scale. |

Amazing stuff Mark. Which Welsh unit was this? => Found it in Ian Dalglish's Bluecoat Over the Battlefield book. 1st Welsh Guards. I had a relative in 3rd Mons who was at Pavee on Aug 6th, within sight of Le Haut Perrier, and Tigers at Chenedolle were causing them problems then. B |

We did Wittmans demise in 6mm using my rules, when you put up the whole Kampfgruppe at 1 to 1, that is 14 Tigers and 20 pz IVs with SP supports it looked amazing. In my rules we broke it down and it did show why the Canadians claim is so wrong. we used the aerial photos before, durong and after the action. :) |

6mm is the best scale to understand the fully battle and action. Thank you Microbiggie :) |

Microbiggie (Mark Luther)'s games are just an amazing treat, both for the eye and for the imagination. I have been a student of his techniques for years now. While I make no claim to even approaching his skill level, I do believe that my own game tables have greatly improved by the skills I have developed as a devotee of his AARs and "how-to's". His scenarios also deserve some mention. I know he generally claims to get his scenarios out of various scenario books, but I can see his hand in the adaptation of these scenarios. Or perhaps it is his hand as game master that I see. In any case, his AARs tell stories of action that seem to track closer to my understanding of WW2 combat actions than any other wargaming I have seen. Kudos, Mark. Another battle well fought, another game well put-together, and another story well told! (And thanks for the link to the step-by-step of the previous Normandy table. After years of study, I still learn more from every tutorial you offer. And I am thankful to you for taking the time.) -Mark (aka: Mk 1) |

Hi Mark, Thanks for the comments as always. I did change this one up a bit because it seemed that the map for the TFL scenario didn't look quite like the what the maps I looked at showed. Minor changes and threw in an orchard because Normandy. The IABSM rules do generate some great games and allow a narrative to develop that seems more than plausible. And they are practically 1/300 in ground scale so look good. Thanks again, Mark |
