Yes. Don't paint the pants stripes. |

I have, but I am a bit liberal in that way sometimes. |

They have 1873 Springfield trapdoor carbines, 1873 Colt single action revolvers and looped cartridge belts. The horse equipment is mostly 1859 which is correct for ACW and Indian Wars until after the LBH. Most saddlebags are 1874s that were not issued even in time for the LBH. Tom |

Pants stripes were only for officers and NCOs in both periods. |

Since almost all of the Foundry Plains Wars US cavalry are in brimmed hats, I would limit them to the Western Theater. The Eastern Theater (i.e., the Army of the Potomac) was ,in my opinion more likely to wear the kepi or forage cap rather than the brimmed hat. The rest of the details mentioned above can be camouflaged with paint, I would think. Jim |

Officer stripes were very narrow (1/8 or 1/4 inch, I believe) in the ACW and up until about 1872, then were increased to 1 and 1/2 wide through the rest of the Indian Wars. |
