Hello, I'm rebasing some 6mm adlers I have to use with these rules. Looking at the order of battle at the back of them it appears that there is no need for Brigade commander stands. Is this correct or am I making a school boy error?
Thanks for any input.

Brigade command is referenced on page 2. "Commanders should be based so that you can tell the difference between Division, Brigade and higher level commands. The basing system is not important but for these rules single figures are based 30mm by 20mm for Division and Brigade command and ….."

I imagine you can use them if you wanted more flexibility within Divisions if you wanted it, Not sure that they are required though. Rules are a bit vague in that respect…. My answer would be yes but only if you wanted more granularity of Command within your Divisions.

An infantry Major Formation (page12) is composed of infantry Battalions. "There is no need to issue orders to specific units of infantry (battalions), cavalry or artillery. All the orders are issued at the Army, Wing, Corps, Division or Brigade level." A Brigade Major Formation therefor would be comprised of several infantry battalions within a Division.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will paint brigade commanders up, even if they are not needed they can flit around the field looking the part.

I am sure there were brigades detached for whatever reason or purpose… so it wouldn't hurt to have a few brigade commanders available for that specific purpose.

I use division and brigade commander stands to put order markers next to. Gives them something to do.
