I've posted these photos on Facebook, Little Wars Revisited and PMCD Mobilisatie, so I'm sorry if you've seen them before.
I ran a Retreat from Moscow 1812 game using Rebels and Patriots at our Labor Day weekend con. The French performed a fighting withdrawal while their wagons full of wounded and plunder got across a bridge. As it turned out, the veteran French easily held off the green Russian regulars and Cossack irregulars. The Old Guard took the heaviest casualties, going under half strength early on, but their elite status meant they kept making their morale rolls. The French artillery lost both their guns from waiting too long to limber up and retreat. A fun game fought to a decisive conclusion in under three hours. The figures are all 54mm.

Looks great. Are the dismounted cavalry conversions? Where did the priest come from?

The wolves are a great touch.

So awesome. Like the dismounted dragoons (one drawing the sword from scabbard and another one holding a duck) and the officer in fur coat!

Thanks, All, for the kind words. 79th, the dismounted cav are quite a mix, some are conversions of AWI and ACW plastic infantry in greatcoats with cavalry heads. The lancers are Oryon figures and they come ready painted. I found some 54mm Zorro capes online and I added them to some of the figures. The figures that really look weather beaten are old Rose figures from their Retreat 1812 collection. The priest is Engineer Basevich from their Defense of Sevastopol 1854-55 set, as are some of the dismounted Cossacks.

Some of those old classic retreat figures are memories of Military Modelling ads of my youth. Could never afford them though…

Great looking game
