…U.S.-Taliban Deal.

"The Afghan government has concerns about the draft peace agreement reached between U.S. and Taliban negotiators and wants further clarification, President Ashraf Ghani's main spokesman said on Wednesday.

The deal, which would see around 5,000 U.S. troops withdrawn and five bases closed in exchange for guarantees that Afghanistan would not be used as a base for militant attacks on America, was presented to Ghani this week by the special U.S. envoy for peace in Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad.

However, with the Taliban stepping up attacks in the capital Kabul and provincial centers across the country, the agreement has faced scepticism from several sides, including a number of former U.S. officials and politicians…"

The Afghan government wants to know if there is going to be a ceasefire if this "peace deal" is signed. Poor gullible …. there will be no ceasefire…. I would start packing….

Looking for guarantees from the Taliban is a little weird. They're not cohesive enough, homogenous enough, consistent enough.

So the women of Afghanistan are going to lose their rights a second time in living memory.
