This would have been very good. BUT your web site has not been updated in 2 years. How are we supposed to know about this if you don't support it yourselves. And don't give me any FaceMess as many of us can't stand it.

Bowman19 Sep 2019 7:29 a.m. PST

Most of the conventions in Ontario use FB to dispense their information.

bhall38919 Sep 2019 2:36 p.m. PST

Well Stephen, you know about KEGSCon through this forum, and we have posted it in others…

Pretty much everyone in the gaming scene in the Southwestern Ontario maintains a presence on Facebook as their primary social media effort.

We have found that websites are not as effective as Facebook, are more difficult to maintain and update, and take up too much of our valuable time.

We made the decision to take down the website, you may have found an archived copy.

All that said, are you making the trip to Chatham for KEGSCon VII?

Regards,

Brian

No. I found out too late. I know about your group through participating in games at Hot Lead. Last year didn't work out but I was hoping for this year. If I had known a month earlier I could have made the arrangements and would have attended. Is there a way to get on an email list? Thank you.

bhall38920 Sep 2019 2:57 p.m. PST

KEGSCon is always in September, usually the last weekend of the month.

I'll post the date for 2020 here when it is confirmed.

stephen m23 Sep 2019 4:21 p.m. PST

Yes but how do we get in touch with anyone in order to know the schedule? Can you pre-register for events or the convention?

Bowman24 Sep 2019 5:00 a.m. PST

Yes but how do we get in touch with anyone in order to know the schedule?

Since you don't do "FaceMess" that could be a problem as all the conventions generally use FB to dispense their information. That's the way I know when Hotlead '20 is, for example.

Otherwise you will have to go through different channels, such as TMP.

Can you pre-register for events or the convention?

Depends on the convention. Hotlead just started some pre-registration and that is on their website (closer to the event). But most conventions just have sign up sheets at the convention themselves. All of them show their schedule ahead of time.

stephen m24 Sep 2019 9:20 a.m. PST

Hot Lead has all the events listed on a non FB web page and I had and have no issues finding out all about it. Kegs unfortunately hid in FB land until I found out too late. I have visited their site before that is why I comment on it being out of date.

More to the point, Kegs Con was a fun small convention in a beautiful setting. Thanks to Brian and Keith for doing the heavy lifting. There are some nice pictures for those that have Facebook:

Some sad news for the KEGger's, the Retrosuites venue is unavailable for any dates in September, October or early November. They are full up due to Weddings…

Therefore, a search of the Chatham Kent area has resulted in a new venue for the convention in 2020.

The event will be held at the Active Lifestyle Centre at 20 Merritt Ave in Chatham

activelifestylecentre.org

The dates will be 12-13 September 2020.

KEGSCon IX will be back at the Retrosuites September 25-26 2021
