We actually went there several years ago, but our dogs killed the wife's Hard drive. And the pictures got lost, but she managed to retive most of them.

Just make sure you time it right, because when they start building the new museum, it will take several years before it's open to the public again.

Very nice ,They have one also at the Viking Musuem at Schloss Gottorf in Schleswig/Germany.,along w/ a living history Viking village by Schleswig.

I was there in July, brilliant, highly recommended. Also visited the Vasa museum which was astounding.

I went to a Viking longship museum when I was a schoolboy.

I think it was at Gokstad or something like that.

I am now a fairly old man but I still remember it well.

Having visited both the Norwegian ship museum in Oslo and the Swedish ship museum at Roskilde I think I prefer the Swedish museum. The Norwegian ships are better preserved than the Swedish ships, being used for funerals rather than being sunk to block channels and limit access to Roskilde harbour, but I found the Swedish museum more rounded and informative.
