… The genetic origins analysis of the Napleon-DNA-Profile "Since the beginning of 2010 iGENEA is on the search for male descendants of the Bonaparte family with a large-scale worldwide project. 47 people, who claim to be related to Napoleon have been tested and compared to find genetic similarities. At the same time, scientists conducted comprehensive DNA tests with a hair sample of Napoleon. The result has been compared with a sample from Charles Napoléon Bonaparte, a descendant of Napoleons brother Jérôme Bonaparte. Both results matched and have been published in the Journal of Molecular Biology Research on 31.12.2011…" Main page igenea.com/en/napoleon Amicalement Armand

Beware genetic testing of families. It can lead to some far greater surprises than Napoleon as an ancestor and some "unfortunate" absences of any genetic link to at least one putative parent |

According to a dubiously remembered statistic – 1/6 UK population is a cuckoo living in the family nest. |

No but my great great ×3000 grandfather was Uga Bonabuga the first emperor of the Neanderthals. His empire stretched over most of Europe and central Asia. His well drilled cavemen had the best pointed sticks in the known world. His mammoth cavalry arm was well trained (Fredrick the great's cavalry was modeled after his mammoth cavalry.) |

I'd guess being a descendent of Augustus the Strong would be better |

Uga was certainly a cute looking specimen – freckles, bushy eyebrows, stooped gait – last seen binge-eating Cheddar cheese in Wookey Hole. However, the one to watch is the Imperator of the Denisovans – marvellous logistics, superbly drilled bow-people and excellent siege park. |

Surely it is all down to Lucie, from Out of Africa. Unless you are a Neanderthal (and even then there is little doubt that a distant ancestor took a fancy to a better looking and slightly brighter H. Sapiens) H. Sapiens was the chap, she fancied, who chucked dice in a virtual battle on a table, with Mammoths, while H Neanderthalis actually got killed in the process. Guess who got to pass on his genes, shortly after feasting on the kill?
We should have a Prehistoric Forum…there have been dafter ideas, but I will not mention firearms having been dawghoused and censored.

No. But Great-Great Grandfather Ernst was born in Alsace, so the odds are His Imperial Majesty got a few cousins many times removed killed. Does that count for anything? |

I'd laugh if Prince Harry somehow turned out to be related to Napoleon but not to Prince Charles. |

No. But Great-Great Grandfather Ernst was born in Alsace," Well if you want to play that game; I'm sure my (NZ) father must have been killing a few of my mothers cousins during WWII (grt-grandparents came via Denmark from Koblenz). cheers d |
