I finally got a few of these done. It should be enough to get us through a short day of campaigning with just a couple of players.
I hope to get a game like that in within the week to week and a half. The bird things have grown on me and I have two more almost finished in addition to these. I have the rest of the furies about 80% done and hopefully a few of them will be done today.
The bird things remind me a lot of Kroot in terms of their versatility. They are figures that could be useful in any fantasy game, as could the furies I suppose.
The bird things don't really look like anything else though and would be a neat random encounter in a D&D game, useful as dangers in a Marvel heroes game set in the Savage Lands or even as alien creatures in a Dr. Who game. The latter would be neat if you used them as a type of intelligent species with a type of hive mind, the Doctor encounters one on its own and it is sort of savage and dangerous but then as more of them come together they become more intelligent and less hostile. Maybe they were even deliberately scattered by the bad guy and want to help the doctor as he is their enemy too. |

Those new Furies put the old ones to shame. (Too bad I own so many). What is the official name of the bird things? I can think of some uses in my alternative army. They remind me of the Coatl, except I think the Coatl is leg-less. |

I think they are called Raptoryx. The new furies are the ones I've been waiting for. A boxed set of both is due for preorder this weekend. Here are some more of them.
I still have two more angry chickens to paint and then the whole box will be done.
The furies do look so much better than the old ones.
