Serious question, the pictures on the website are great. What do folks think about them?

I have about a dozen and I think they are lovely.

Travellera28 Aug 2019 11:34 p.m. PST

They are awesome!

Probably the best figures of their type on the planet and beyond.

Best 28mm models there are.

Yes, they are that good, they are fantastic.

Short answer is yes.

Okay, more difficult question, pin them down time wise. How early or late can I use them? Second Barons War, early HYW?

JimDuncanUK30 Aug 2019 7:08 a.m. PST

Those questions would be best answered by the proprietor Dave Imrie. He's a good lad.

Jim,
I just emailed Dave with exactly that question.

rampantlion30 Aug 2019 8:19 a.m. PST

They are really beautiful figures and a lot of fun to paint as well. Dave is a great guy as well.

They are for Crecy, so 1340s and 50s, maybe as early as 30s and their infantry could be used all they way through the mid 1300s. While the men at arms would be a bit outdated by poiters, but might work for less well of men at arms. I think by poitiers the classic wasp/hourglass armor was starting to show up, at least among the wealthy men at arms.

I was leaning towards earlier, say Bannockburn era.

Anybody know if these figures are smallish (compare to Footsore miniatures) or larger, more robust (FrontRank, etc.)?

Beaky Nose10 Mar 2021 3:55 p.m. PST

Yes they are amazing. My top choice. Shame the period covered isn't greater.

Nnascati they are absolutely ideal for Bannockburn. IIRC there 's a guy with a cross growing out the top of his helmet but that's easily removed. Avoid two-handed swords and axes and you need to give everybody spears if at all possible.
