Just that really. 75 years on. I see there were parades in Paris, but nothing in our UK press or News programmes. Somehow we almost seem to be expanding the Channel between Dover and Calais recently. 2e DB is a marvellous modelling subject, whether the vehicles with the iconic markings or the exotic uniforms of Spahis, Cuirassiers or even Marin Fusiliers.

I'll admit to preferring the 40-42 French army, which is more visibly and tactically different. But then I'm working in microscale these days. Nothing in US media, either. Did we miss the anti-American demonstration? |

Our local paper, the Tampa Bay Times, had a nice little article on it on page 2 along with a very nice, and rather large, picture of one of the parades with re-enactors and vintage equipment. |

Nothing on any of the US World News channels AFAIK … But yes many of the WWII French units provide some very interesting modelling options. |

Our local paper, the Tampa Bay Times, had a nice little article on it… The S.F.Chronicle had an article, with a nice picture of the Leclerc's statue in Paris as the illustration. And for me, I prefer the Armee d'Afrique for my modelling and gaming. I build one army, and I can use it to fight Americans, Brits, Italians or Germans. Talk about value for your money! Yep, give me Spahi's on actual horseback, or at least driving around in something interesting like a White-Laffley armored car. And Legionaires … I mean just try finding Legion des Etrangers figures in 6mm … such an adventure! -Mark (aka: Mk 1) |

Mark, I painted CinC's 6mm SEM Militia as FFL some DAK and LW, too. They work fine, however, the weapons are not WWII …
