I'm just dipping my toe into 1/72 – 20mm Colonial. Can anyone tell me do the Hat and Esci 1/72 scale together OK ? Am I right to think that 20mm metal are somewhat 'Chunkier' than plastic ? Does anyone do Dervish/Mahdists 1/72 mounted in Plastic ? Thanks. |

Hi, Have a look at plastic soldier review easily found with a google search. Should get a good idea from looking on there. 👍🏻 |

HaT and Esci and Waterloo and Revell and Ceasar work together perfectly. Metal 1:72: Elhiem, CP Models, Early War Miniatures work with plastic 1:72 perfectly. 20 mm metal (AB) are a bit chunkier, andwork best with Plastic Soldier Company. |

These 20mm metal figures are far less chunky proportions than most 28mm and could probably mix with plastics. – link |

They do mix. Esci Muslim Warriors, Hat Dervish Warriors and Caesar Arab Camel Riders and Bedouin. link There´s also Waterloo´s 1815 Dervish Infantry link Mounted. Hat Taaishi Camelry and the Hat Hadendowah Camelry. link For cavalry I used Airfix aong with Hat Numidian cavalry set with head swops from Caeser Arabs and Escis Muslims link |

Waterloo 1815 also will fit with Ral Partha Colonials. I use Hat, Waterloo 1815, Partha and Esci. The Waterloo 1815 Egyptians are also VERY nice. Running another game this Friday. |

HAT and Esci work fine together. Waterloo dervish are excellent, as are their Egyptians. I've used the classic old 25mm Ral Partha's as well, especially gun crews, flag bearers, musicians, etc. Also used some of the RedBox offerings (not so nice) for mounted Brits, though now HAT has begun offering them as well. Best thing about 1/72: you can create a large army for next to nothing. Be sure you seal your completed plastic figures with a white glue wash though. |

We are also dipping into 1/72 – 22mm colonial, NOT 20mm. 20mm is 1/76 if you look at Airfix. And btw when I say colonial, I mean everything BUT zulu essentially meaning everything prior to just the beginning of WW1, and set as an adventure game with some military.
