Anyone know of a simple but effective tables for generating battles and for dealing with flank marches and off table reserves?

C.S. Grant's "Scenarios for Wargames" and "Programmed Wargames Scenarios" might be a good place to start. The latter is designed for solo play, and a number of the scenarios include flank marches and reinforcements. Virtually all are multi- period, so lot's of flexibility for gaming.

DBM (ancients) has rules for flank marching, and "Shako" has the same (French only) as well as options for off- table reserves.

In The Courier, Vol. IV, No. 4 Paul Koch's article "Finding Them is Half the Fun" provided a system of pre- game maneuvering that gave the possibility of an unpredictable battlefield and provided for reinforcements a/o flank marches arriving during a battle. Probably intended for his "On to Richmond" (and similar) rules, but should be adaptable for your favorite set.

I've got a simple set of scenarios in rules here, for generating terrain, reserves etc, though not yet flank marches. Want to add flank marches soon though, similar style to DBX style rules (e.g. DBM or ADLG).
