Neat! "Teddy bear fur"! I like washers for bases because they are cheaper, heavier (and thus more stable), and magnetic when that's handy. |

That's not teddy bear fur. That's polyester batting, like for stuffing a cushion. |

Try wool roving. You can buy black, grey, orange, red easily on ebay. It is used by hand spinners. You only need a few ounces. Tease it into shape and wet it with some thinned white glue. Glue the clump to a painted penny and there is your marker |
