Im just reading up on the battle and want to know more about the artillery present, if anyone can help? Apparently Cope deployed 6 1.5 pdr Galloper guns and 6 mortars. Am I right in thinking these moratrs would be the Coehorn mortars? And what do the 1.5pdrs look like? Does anyone do models of these in 28mm? All the guns I've found seem rather larger! Thanks in Advance! edit- ah front rank seem to have the mortars I think… link |

Mike, I think the mortars were 4 x Coehorn mortars and 2 x Royal mortars (similar but slightly larger). I have images of scratch built 1:72 models of all these on my website: link The 1 1/2 pounder galloper guns did not have limbers but had two long trail poles which attached directly to the draught horses. Again there are images of these on my website. Rod |
