Dam New wave has a female pirate figure that I would love plus alot of others but I just can't bring myself to risk it again. They still owe me 5 figures and never responded to any e-mail Just a bunch of crooks :( |

Who is the manufacturer - Eureka or Shadowforge or ????? Could you order directly from the manufacturer and so bypass Old Story/New Wave ? |

The sculptor is Bobby Jackson, who seems to have thrown in his lot with new Wave for some (likely monetary) reason. For the record also, Shadowforge don't make pirates, the Shadowforge sculptor Neil Holloway sculpted the ones on Eurekas site, hence the association :) Artemis www.artemisblacks.co.uk |

The Figure in question is apparently left over from some con and was not - as I understand it - made specifically for New Wave. New Wave just acquired the leftovers. I've ordered one. Let's see how long it takes to arrive... |

have you tried to contact New Wave by phone? I've had better luck with them in the past when I do that. Also, if they ran your charge card for the items you have yet to receive and you haven't received them because they weren't in stock - they are breaking the law. You might try to remind them of that. One of the main troubles w/ new wave is that they have 16 year olds running the warehouse and processing the orders. I've been in there a few times and the work ethic is awful and so nothing is real organized and it could be your stuff was just left out of the order as oversight - they should still complete your order to insure customer satisfaction. You can also call your credit card company and report it and cancell the transaction. That'll get someones attention |

I would REALLY not recommend ordering from them. Too many cases of poor service, just look at the other messages on this board! I too, was once screwed by them, and won't be ordering again... |

I don't have too many problems w/ ordering myself, but then again I live about 20 minutes from the warehouse and I can pick up my stuff personally. But I'd have to agree that anyone uses them at their own risk |

It's sad that a company that has so many different lines of miniatures for sale has such shoddy service. They're like the Toys R' Us of miniatures sellers - they claim to have everything, but when you go to get it... whoops. |

I'd avoid New Wave like the plague, and go straight to the manufacturers themselves. They're all in business to sell their stuff and would rather have happy customers. I know for a fact that Shadowforge prefers it this way, and I'd imagine the others would too. |

well kevin Smoot, I did not call them on the phone and its been 10 months since I placed my order so I cant cancell the credit card. I did tell them they were breaking the law and got no response so I just dont think they care. The figure in question was from a convention call Warfair and was a giveaway. But as Nukuhiva says fool me once... AND YES I CAN LIVE WITHOUT THE FIGURE :( boooo hooo :) |

"well kevin Smoot, I did not call them on the phone and its been 10 months since I placed my order so I cant cancell the credit card...." I'm sure you realize this now, but you should not have waited so long. Most credit card companies require that you contest any charges within 2 months of either the posting date of the charge or the printing date of the invoice on which the charge first appeared. A rule of thumb that I always follow. If 30 days have passed since you were charged for an item and you haven't yet received it or a refund, get the credit card company involved before its too late! |

Recieved my LE Lady Pirate Figure from New Wave today! (Along with some Dark Age minis I ordered...) Maybe their sales volume has dropped to the point were they can actually fill orders? BTW, I think this pirate figure is based on a "Pirate Chick" who was at Origins. It seems to me I've seen pictures on the Origins site (or maybe it was Gen Con). In any case, she was the swashbuckling version of the "Chainmail Girl"! Howard |

NW is a joke. I have been trying to take care of an order that I placed 9 months ago with them. I ordered 5 packs of figures and was told by the joker that took my order that they were all in stock. Package arrives and I get one of the 5 items I ordered. Thats when the game began. Calls, emails, nothing. These people just dont give a damn if basically what it comes down to. I didnt contact my credit card company because I was left a message from NW that my stuff was on back order and would be arriving in about a month. Well by the time I got good and pissed it was to late for the card company to do anything. Hell as many people as NW has pissed off you would think that we could group together and take legal action. Heck I would pay my share. Not because I need the 42 bucks back that I am out but because these bastards should be out of business. I think I may have a way of getting to them though. I have family in the area and my cousin is dating a investigative reporter that works for one of the local TV News channels. Well she said that she might be interested in looking into NW and seeing what she can find out. I will keep you all posted. |

Irish44: that rules! is she one of our local news reporters then? I wonder if us locals will recognize her. Kevin Smoot: I too have been in the local store, dunno if the store I went to was actually the front for their warehouse or not, didn't seem big enough, just looked like a fairly small games workshop type store. I wasn't very impressed with the people running the store nor their stock, but I got a couple of figs anyways since I'd made the drive from the south side all the way up there to check it out. I did order from them once and will never do so again. It was a very simple order, one plastic pack of figures and luckily that's all it was. I ordered early in December and never got any confirmation or anything that the item was in stock or wasn't or that it had shipped. My only confirmation was something after I submitted the payment and it just said 'we are processing your order,' but no details. After two weeks of waiting for my figures to arrive or even some confirmation that they'd shipped I began sending emails to them. I sent three emails to two different email addresses on their site, never got a single response. My CC was charged like a week after I made the order. A few more weeks passed, as I wasn't really motivated to get up in arms about the small order, and finally my figs came. The box they were in was sturdy and fine, but the inside was hollow and the box my figs were actually inside of was busted on one side. Luckily the figs were fine, but needless to say, this wasn't a fun experience at all. I'm so glad I put my big orders into thewarstore.net instead. |
