I think it will be well worth the read. I've been asked to review it so there must be a high level of confidence from the authors/editor.

He's also into wargaming/painting etc.

I do like the Battle of Fornovo for a DBR or DBA Big battle game that is not just line them up at each other across the table and go forward. Having a battle with the armies at a 90° angle to each other very interesting. I've done it a few times. See some here

Interesting stuff. It's an idea that I could toy with for a while though my instinct is to fight it as close to possible to the historical event. At least in terms of military goals.

Thanks for the suggestion and as I said, it's something I will consider.
