Why would Rum be so popular in the USA? I worked in the Dominican Republic in the last century, and loved to bring back "ron anejo," but have not had it this century. GdeP |

Because it's tasty. And we've had an influx of people over time from places where it's distilled. Like the majority of food and drinks in the US it is a gift. I grew up with peroggi and kielbasa and tacos and carne asada and cabbage rolls and tequila and rum and Guinness and all sorts of things you could ask "why" about. |
