I posted this as a response but figured it deserved its own thread for visibility. I've heard very good things about Gaming Models, and looking at their range I see a few things I might consider getting.

Scale-wise how do they measure up to Battlefront or Plastic Soldier Company? Do they look out of place alongside units from the other? How about mixed in (usually this always looks out of place, are these no exception)?

Their Panther, an older sculpt, was noticeably thinner then a PSC Panther. I have no idea which one was "Correct". I would not use the same vehicle from two manufactures together but I would have no problem using PSC and GM vehicles of different types on the table together.

I know its apples and oranges, but here is a link to my blog where I compare some early war stuff:

Like every figure line, I'm sure any 'scale creep' varies sculpt by sculpt.

And that said, I think that GM is great.

Thanks, Dave, that'll be greatly helpful. I mostly don't want to buy like a $45 USD box of 5 tanks if I only want 3, or if I need let's say 6. It would be better to buy what I need if they won't look too off. Especially if I don't have the Battlefront ones already

Coming from Warhammer I am shocked and amazed at the variety of miniatures available with historical gaming. It's confusing because there are so many choices, but having those choices adds more variety.

What Gaming Models brand of tank are you looking for? I have some Soviet models available. The only thing is they are completely resin and usually in two pieces. Some times there can be pot marks on the turret or hull. Using some putty usually fixes this issue easily. They also come with a peg to the bottom of the turret to connect it to the hull. I have always cut them off and drilled to allow magnets on the turret and hull. This keeps the turret from falling off when someone picks one up to look at them.

British.

I was considering Valentines/Honeys/Universal Carries and the like as alternatives to the Battlefront ones (while they would be for Flames of War I'm not concerned about a single manufacturer) but wanted to get a sense of scale before I looked at ordering any.

Specifically, I was looking at getting some Valentines, Honeys, maybe Churchills. I have Battlefront Crusaders and Grants so the GM ones would look out of place next to them, and the Universal Carriers look to be cheaper with Battlefront (9 for $30 USD).

The actual tanks though, Battlefront sells 5 for $45 USD, but you usually need 3 for an HQ and 3 for a troop so you're one short without buying several boxes to make up the difference. Buying from another source is tempting for that factor, along with them being cheaper and buying a complete unit from him would make them look the same on the table.

Worth considering. He gives 1 vehicle free for every 10 purchased so that can lower the price even a bit more. He has been known to throw in a freebie now and then, not always mind you, but a welcome surprise. On my latest order of a group of Kfz 70s he threw in a free one mounting a 37mm AT gun. It is not unusual, when you send him a list of what you want, for him to make a deal with the total less than the flat $5 USD a vehicle. So might be worth asking, for example, how much for 10 universal carriers.

My orders with him have been for vehicles I dont have so can't give you a good idea on how they may compare with a specific FOW vehicle but the vehicles all look pretty good with other types.

It would be good enough if they looked well enough in a group with themselves since I doubt I would mix them into the Battlefront unit. At any rate, it's something I can consider, and that's what's most important to me; having the *choice*.

They do have some useful quirky models such as the GMC 1.5CWT truck .
