Yes, I remember when it on TV (I think). I liked it and I like Tom Selleck.

I also liked this movie, but it's a one side version of the 3 ring circus of SCAEF. The epic failure of the Air force on Omaha beach, lack of time given for the naval Bombardment, and final the total disregard for the bocage.

I found it a nice surprise of a movie, not perfect by any means but much better than it had any right to be.

It was nice to see Monty portrayed as more than just an ego.

Seen it a bunch of times and loved it

It is a depiction of the decision-making process, the stresses of high command, and of Eisenhower himself. Some artistic license has been taken, but I don't think it was trying to be an all-inclusive military history.

Plus, by nature, huge complex organizations like that are always three-ring circuses.

My wife has shown excerpts in her classroom, it is outstanding. I love it.

Tom Selleck did an excellent job. I was skeptical before seeing it.

I may have seen this in the day, but I don't remember. I hope to stream this movie online. Thanks for posting.

As far as SHAEF SNAFUs on June 6th, 1944 are concerned? The invasion was supposed to occur June 5th, 1944.

Having to conceal where and when? Postponed by weather, changes to plans coordinated by telephone or radio using codes (and deciphering said coded messages in a timely fashion) without the aid of computers or smart(?)phones.

OVERALL? OVERLORD was a hell of an achievement. And IKE was the right man at the right time for this Allied Effort.

By the way, Tom Selleck was good in Quiqley Down Under. :-)

I saw it on TV and I own a dvd copy. Have seen it countless times. I was surprised at how well Selleck played the part. Especially since he had to shave off his famous mustache.
