Excellent book and I had the opportunity to meet the author in 2008. He was a great gentleman and another historian of the old school lost too soon.

@ Extrabio1947: yes indeed, I've used it for that very purpose several times already. I also used it to help me get the arrangement of reins right on a recent 54mm French hussar model:

It is an inspiring beautiful book….and if you got a copy for fifteen quid…well done you! Wish I had.

Although so many of the prints are reproduced very often on the Internet, there are many that have escaped the attentions of Pinterest (so far anyway)
