Greetings. Has anybody had sight of this yet?

Publication date 25th July, so perhaps it is too soon.

I have it. Read about halfway through. Typical campaign fare. I couldn't comment on the accuracy and inaccuracies. General theme is that the Sikh generals and British wanted the same thing: destruction of the Sikh army. Book goes into some brief overview of the chaotic Sikh dynastic struggles after the death of Ranjit and state of Sikh Khalsa prior to the war. I want to game the war but it's hard to get motivated when you realize how hamstrung the Sikh army was by its command.

Anything specific you are curious about?

I also have the book. It is a good introduction to the war with equal emphasis on the military and the political. My one carp is that there is nothing useful about the organisation of the Khalsa. The numbers are given but there is nothing about how the regiments and brigades were organised etc. However, despite this, I would recommend it.

Gentlefolk…please see my SWSB Update from a few days back!

Thanks, all. I was interested to know whether the book included any new work on field adaptations (or not) of British uniforms, rather than the generic images with which we are familiar.
