Juust as it says . Wich Vallejo colors would be appropiate for the infantry & vehicles of the "hight tide" cold war of the early-Mid 80s West grerman forces? |

Actually, for mid-1980s, Flecktarn isn't appropriate for troops. While developed prior to the Cold War, it wasn't introduced until after it, if my memory, and Wiki are correct: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flecktarn For vehicles, hopefully someone else will be along shortly. Many were in the 3-Color camo, but some older vehicles still might be in the previous, overall, Dunkelgelb color. I think Vallejo may actually now produce a version of that, but don't know how close it is to the real thing. For the three-color, I'd go with a very dark gray (faded, flat black), red brown, and appropriate green color. |

Quick correction to the above: I'm sure Thresher01 intended to say Gelboliv (an OD-ish shade) & not WWII Dunkelgelb! Damon. |

This may be of some use: link
This says golboliv until 1984. |

I was stationed in Germany Oct '84 to May '86 and definitely saw Bundeswehr vehicles in both gelboliv and the NATO, three color. In the Grafenwoehr Training Area, they were commonly pink from the dust. I recall laughing at a column of two tone (gelboliv on top, pink on the bottom) vehicles driving by. pjm |

Ah yes, you are quite right, Garand. Fingers seem to be typing independently of the mind, or I had a major synapse break. |

Yes, Flecktarn is post Cold War. So my Bundeswehr are all in field grey with GelbOlive vehicles (Iirc Vallejo NATO Camo Green is a good match) |

IMHO, Vallejo doesn't offer a good match for RAL 6014 Gelboliv, which is a brownish OD. Testors MM 2175 Gelboliv is a great match but unfortunately it is only currently offered as an enamel. link Mig 087 is an acrylic version that is a good match as well. link Uniforms were a greyer shade of Field Grey. A mix of 3 parts 830 field grey and 2 parts 886 green grey gives a good result. link Although almost any OD would work for gelboliv, kind of like Russian green and US OD, there are lots of shades depending on scale, age of paint job and weathering effects from field use.
