Can magnetic dice really help someone cheat? Is this really a thing? How would that even work?

Though our handiwork isn't slick enough to fool a casino pit boss, a few experiments might help determine if magnetic dice are feasible. Let's cheat with magnetic dice!

If you're not going to try to beat a casino, why even bother to cheat at dice?

Cheating with dice has a long history, IIRC there are some seriously loaded dice from the time of the Roman Empire, if not earlier.

um yeeeah, not a good idea to cheat at some casinos, especially if they catch you doing it….

(Besides, IIRC, most casinos use translucent dice, so if you can invent transparent magnets, you will be so rich you won't need to bother trying to rip off a casino for money… ;-)
