Only snag is, if you do follow the link, see the introductory sentences. I cannot understand the problem though, after all this brings folk to his website…… But he specifically says do not copy and picks out poor Tango especially. Keep up the good work I say (Grin) |

You post stuff on the web then it gets used, bad people make some sort of profit from it, better people say, hey this is good take a look. Bad mouthing Tango01 for highlighting the relevant blog and providing links is stupid in my view. Either you want your stuff seen and credit to be given, or you don't. No need to act like a child. But then again, what does my opinion matter? |

Anyone called Old Peculiar gets my vote. Lethal stuff mind |

I agree with Old Peculiar, too, and – at 82 – I'm Older and "Peculiarer!" GdeP |

Something tells me that the rolled greatcoat should be green, but these pictures raise a question I've always struggled with. When fielding a unit of miniature lancers, do you only arm the front rank with lances, as was the custom, or do you arm everyone with lances because your figures are really representing multiple squadrons? |
Condotta  | 01 Aug 2019 3:26 p.m. PST |
Widowson, all my Lancers' ranks are armed with lances. I like as many lances as possible; they are easily recognizable and appear more formidable. If the unit above had only the front rank armed with the lance, there would be only one figure with a lance, which would not look good on the tabletop in my opinion. I use a 1:60 figure ratio, however, so my units are usually 8 figures, same as the OP. |

Saw the pics on the link. But are we talking the thieving African or European s--tweasel? |

The cloaks. Assuming they followed dragoon practice, which seems the norm., I think grey. Alas most units seem to have dropped the facing colour cloak which looks so good folded over the portmanteau in for example cuirassiers;
All I would wish is the cloak over the right shoulder, not the left….which I know is debated. |

Tom should be so lucky we see his work via Tango – mate, get over yourself. It's the internet, innit. If you think your "work" will remain private solely to you, jog on. Armand – +1 mate – public service at its finest. Lancers – yes, arm them all that way. They are at 1:20 scale (maybe), so don't over worry the small details.

I think it's unlikely Armand will be receiving a Christmas card from Tom this year |

Wow !! Tango, your not just a thief -- your also weasel??? Lol!! By the way, everything I never did, said, looked at, studied, etc, I own the copyright. I wonder if that fellow got permission from the manufacturer to post the figures on his blog? |

>>All I would wish is the cloak over the right shoulder, not the left….which I know is debated. I'd say that practice would quickly show you could not wield a sword or sabre with a thick rolled wrapper on your shoulder- (arm)- by contrast underneath it supports the wavering arm… As for the rest, I call BS and leave it at that! If the jerk continues, boycott his site. No loss to me, d |

I'd say that practice would quickly show you could not wield a sword or sabre with a thick rolled wrapper on your shoulder- (arm)- by contrast underneath it supports the wavering arm… funnily cavalry did you do what you doubt, look at contemporary prints or at old threads discussing the subject. Of course one could have the believe to know it better as those who had much more experience and reason to carry cloaks in that way you doubt, I stick with them. |
