While basing up a load of 15mm sci-fi figures I had my 3D printer running, making some bits of scenery, I have put up a post on my site showing what I did.

I hope you like it.

Neat!

You might be able to tweak some settings and reduce the visibility of the lines. They're always there, but you can minimize them with the right temperature, etc.

@Andrew Walters thanks, it is funny you should say that because a freind ( who knows a lot more than I do about 3D printing ) said a similar thing, he suggested that I change the "Slicer" I was using, as the one I had was a really simple basic one.
The new one he suggested has many more options than my old one, it allows me to use special supports and allows me to change the quality of the print!!
So I can't wait to see if it makes any difference.

@LonelyGamer what's the name of the new Slicer he suggested?

Lonely Gamer27 Jul 2019 3:07 p.m. PST

@alphus99 the new slicer I was told to use is Cura, there are lots of setting so I am still working my way through them, also not had much free time to get much printed.

It also allows me to do a brim around the item, my old slicer would not so lots of times things moved off the hot plate while printing!

Hopefully this will make a difference to my printing.

Slic3r and Cura are my go to slicing programs. Cura has a nifty feature where if you take two stl files you can mesh them together. Endless fun
