Love BBB. 1866 is also not as one sided as the Prussian historians would have us believe. History is often written by the victors. |

I have gamed and read a lot about 1866. The possibilities in that war are not as lopsided. But frankly, the Austrians were shot down in a very lopsided fashion. Their saving grace was poor Prussian artillery doctrine and the Prussian Army not being the finely honed machine it was in 1870. |

The 1866 Austrians were in a good place with their troops but in a bad place with their Commanders in Bohemia. The Custozza Campaign in Northern Italy showed how a smaller force well led could win. Likewise for the FPW, given good leadership all was possible, with a little luck of course. |
