Don't think I've heard any of the "top 10" and only a few of the others.

I think it helps if you are into metal.

Redcurrant19 Jul 2019 7:51 a.m. PST

I think that I have heard of 3 of them – not a metal fan.

Could include 'Soldier Blue' and 'Universal Soldier' by Buffy Sainte-Marie.

They don't seem to know if they are listing 'war songs' or 'anti-war songs'. Two completely different things, I would have thought.

Also, Bloody Sunday was not about Russia in 1917!

Seems like any witless buffoon can have a website these days…

I agree with Rooster and Painted Black. Otherwise…..

So they define 'War Songs' as any song with war as a theme.

Certainly not my definition.

I think if I were about to go down in some last stand I would like to be blasting out #31 "Paint it Black" on the loud speakers.

Not a bad choice Kevin C.

I have to admit that I pulled the plug on that listing long before #31.

No oldies but goodies in the list.

Cerdic, you are right it was about Northern Ireland. But he hasn't even got the right Russian Revolution. Bloody Sunday was 5th January 1905, during an earlier Russian Revolution. Father Gapon leading unarmed workers with religious Icons to petition the Tsar.
