Just dusted off an old project for some more work-- 6mm Danish army c. 1980. I have Enola's "World's Major Armies: 1981" which lists 1 Recce Bn. (presumably an army- or corps- level unit), but provides no details of the battalion structure or equipment. Can anyone fill in this info or provide references that have details down to platoon level? |

The 5th Jutland Dragoons in 1989 has 3 squadrons of 6x M-41 light tanks, 4x M-113 APCs and 3x M-125 mortar carriers each. This looks like 2 platoons/troops of three light tanks each, a scout platoon/troop of three M-113, a mortar platoon and maybe one M-113 for squadron HQ. There are also some recon jeeps or Land Rovers but I don't have a number for them. Not sure if this is the valid OB for 1980 but the equipment listed isn't especially new. Not sure if the M-113s have infantry squads. NATO OB for 1989 is here: microarmormayhem.com on the left side of the page. On further reading, this unit is an asset of the Jutland Division and does not exist in 1980. Until sometime in 1981 the 3 squadrons are each subordinate to one of the brigades of the Jutland Division. Hope this helps. |

Thank you – this should be close enough to work. |

Lots of landrovers armed with recoilless rifles, as I recall. |
