We need to get some huts in a hurry – the sort of thing you'd find on a US base such as the MACV Compound at Hue. Any suggestions?

And for my first attempt at posting an image on TMP, we'll try a photo of the huts:

OK, that didn't work. But if you google MACV Hue, you get a pretty good shot of them. To me they look too simple for anything but scratchbuilding, though--rectangles with a peaked roof--short sides pentagonal and long sides rectangular. If you want to get fancy, draw one short and one long side and make copies.

Yup; I've seen pics but it is difficult – perhaps impossible – to convey my total lack of modelling skill so really I'm looking for kits.

In that case, you should probably mention scale.

Take a look at the component kits here:

15-20mm but you could find parts for larger scales

Here's another possibility

Chris:

I understand your aversion to scratchbuilding, but these are dead simple and should be amenable to production in large numbers:

I look at the originals, and I see three pieces--long wall, side wall and roof. Draw one of each, make a quick trip to office depot for copies and Walmart for foamboard, and you'd have the entire Hue compound in an afternoon.

There comes a time to learn new skills. (He says, as he tries digital photography again. But I'll get there, eventually, if I persist.)

Many thanks for all the help. It turns out that we do actually have some very suitable items, so the Hue MACV compound will be on the table top!
