I'm contemplating placing an online order for the products of one of this hobby's big players, but need advice on which works out the cheapest and most reliable supplier taking into account all of:

1. Retail price

2. Discount, if any

3. Postage charges

4. Taxes (Oz GST and/or VAT or equivalent source country tax)

This means I'd like to hear from people who've had practical experience of these matters since last year's changes to the import GST rules, and who've worked through the options and found the best supplier based on net cost and reliability.

Thank you in anticipation.

The AUD is in the toilet but so is the GBP so I'm only going UK at the moment, putting off 6mm with GHQ from the US and focusing on 20mm with Elhiem from the UK.

Matt doesn't add GST, he's too small.

Generally I would go direct to the manufacturer as they're usually too small to have to comply with our draconian GST tentacles and Auspost are too lazy to collect GST on individual packages as they arrive.
