Morning All.
Just a quick question that looking through my not inconsiderable library of Napoleonic books:
What colour were the artillery pieces used by the Dutch and Belgians in the 1815 campaign?
No problem finding the uniforms but the colour of guns isn't mentioned anywhere.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers.

According to page 229 in "Napoleonic Artillery" by Anthony Dawson, Paul Dawson and Stephen Summerfield: for 1814-15 woodwork various shades of brown (red lead & black) with some olive green; metal black.

Page 225 says:

"In 1815 the Netherlands Artillery, with its mixture of gun and equipment types, varied greatly in colour even within batteries. Mostly they were shades of brown with some in French artillery green. It was not until 1826 that the Netherlands army used British material and guns."

The Belgians has previously been in French employ and their equipment reflected this.

For Quatre Bras all Dutch Belgian gear was in olive green according to my research for my re fight.

Happy modelling

Dutch artillery equipment was a mixture of Dutch and French patterns. Most carriages were newly made in 1814 though.
It's unclear how they were painted. Later Dutch artillery material was painted blue.
