This is the new set from Onyx, publisher of Art de la Guerre. Only in French at the moment, with English translation expected for September. There is already a dedicated website.

Anyone know anything about these rules? Following the links leads to a site where everything is in French and my French is only useful for identifying places and reading an Order of Battle, identifying units, etc.

Apparently these come from the stable that produces L'Art de'La Guerre (SP?) which seems to be a popular Ancients/Medieval set of rules. I did try to buy a copy of these a couple of years back but they were out of print and I was told it would be months before they were reprinted. (A downloadable pdf would've seemed the obvious path to me but maybe the Ancients market works differently?!)

Do we know what level these are aimed at? Who does the player represent in the Command chain? What are the manoeuvre units – battalions/batteries/regiments or whole brigades or divisions? Are these big, whole of battle rules or rather find a section of a battle and re-fight a divisional action or a Corps vs a Corps? Are these points driven for tournament play or are they aimed at historical re-enactment? Are there differences between the characteristics of nations or are all armies rated the same with just different numbers of "command points" for better or worse officers?

Always interested in new innovations in rules :)
