This looks nice – Armand found it first, so no credit for me

Oh Lord, strengthen my resolve and keep me from buying up loads of 1/32 figures…

A few months ago, I planned to write up my top 10 memorable games on my wiki. The reason was to illustrate the sort of thing I enjoy doing and why: four of them were with 1/32 figures.

As I get older and the eyes get more selective I'm tempted to 'go large' again. Although now we are getting a dog I suspect garden games will be out of bounds 🐶

Jeffers, you can try doing what I did: buy a couple of dozen figures per side for each period that interests you and tell yourself that you will only play skirmish games with them. Five years later you'll have over 1,000.

Dogs are perfect for garden gaming. You stand behind the firing battery, turn your back to the enemy line, then toss the little beggar over your shoulder. Wherever he lands takes casualties! No dice, no muss no fuss.
Or maybe that should be a cat? I forget. Whatever, just toss him over your shoulder anyways…

Hamsters would be good for that. They roll better for roundshot. More useful than their normal MO of hiding under bits of kitchen roll and stinking the room out.

Nick – thats how I start with everything!

Yep. That's what happened to me. A visit to Steve Weston at Canvey Island, and a few WW2 types, transmogrified into a set of huge packing boxes full of Napoleonics, and a never ending search for new stuff.

With HaT making Austrians in 1/32, that will spur me on yet again

I'm a 40mm Peninsular man myself but love these photos of the 54mm big boys on the table! I have plans for a rocket battery in 40mm and that 'in flight' rocket is spectacular, I might have to borrow that idea!
Lee.

The big boys do look good. And by the time scale creep gets to your 40s you'll be playing with 54s

Have a look at the 54mm wargames forum at link and you'll see photos of 54mm figures and games
