So I found this over on youtube:

The 2002 A&E mini series from back when A&E actually did some decent stuff.

Complete and over 6 hours long.

I got bored with it. It was more soap opera than anything else. Battles were secondary. Very disappointed with it.

It was not too bad, but the military aspects were treated with a very simple brush. Keep your powder dry for the Spielberg effort based on Kubrick's script.

I remember getting excited for it then saw a little and was disappointed.

It was not my cup of tea but it was historical at least.

Oh and far better than anything that either A&E or the History channels are putting out today.

If you get Amazon's Prime Video, it is there as well, without commercials.

I agree that it's more Harlequin/Mills & Boon than military, but sometimes you take what you can get.

I've watched it before, and me and the wife are watching it again now.
As others have said, it's more about Napoleon's love life than anything else.

I had also forgot how tv it felt, I remembered it more with a movie quality.
But it's basically just a more boring more expensive version of Hornblower.

The Heroes and Villains Napoleon episode was actually quite good.
