Yes, the "deer caught in headlights" looks extreme in this case. OTOH if the painter had put black frames around the eyes, it would have looked like they were wearing glasses… ;-) |

I found I got much better results just painting the flesh, then allowing a 'small' amount of wash to settle in the recess's of the eyes. |

Agreed. The vast majority of people can't paint eyes that look anything close to normal, so it is best (for most of us) not to bother. |

That's not supposed to be a John Wick but the characters from the tv series 'Supernatural', apparently. Extreme close up photos often don't do justice to miniatures that are supposed to be viewed at 2 to 3 feet distance. These are painted – not just collecting dust in a zip lock bag in tin-man form. |
